Duke of Edinburgh Practice Trip / Adventurous Journey

PrintThe 1st Laity View Company/Crew will be running it’s Duke of Edinburgh trip, and, due to injuries of participants, we’ve had some last minute openings! If anyone is already registered in the DoE program (or wishes to register online at http://www.dukeofed.org/bc/onlineregistration before the trip), this is a great, GOLD level trip (although you can use this for any level).

The practice journey is an overnight camp to Raven (or Osprey) Creek on Pitt Lake, which will include the Paddle Canada Lake Water Level 1 Certification (http://www.ridgewilderness.com/shopping/collection/lake-water) provided by Ridge Wilderness Adventures. This trip is this weekend (June 20-21), putting in at Grant Narrows, 9AM Saturday, returning Sunday at approximately 3PM.

The Adventurous journey will be a 5-6 day trip to Desolation Sound (http://www.ridgewilderness.com/multi-day-discoveries) also guided by Ridge Wilderness. This trip will leave from Lund Monday July 20th (conveniently after PJ for anyone doing OOS).

While the trips are guided by Ridge Wilderness, participants will be required to be self-sustained; you will need to bring your own equipment, camp and cook for yourselves. That said, we will put you in contact with Laity View’s participants (both Venturers and Rovers of both sexes) to set up camping/cooking groups. All Canoes, paddles, etc. will be provided.

Total cost of the excursions is $500. We can accept a limited number of individuals for the full package only.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
